The Power of Transformation: Identifying and Overcoming Vicarious Trauma

Location:
127 West 127th Street Suite 432, Harlem, NY 10027

The Power of Transformation helps you become aware of how you have been affected by the trauma of people you care. This course highlights ways to reduce stress and bring your life back into balance.

Many social service professionals, psychotherapists, advocates, clergy and direct support workers provide vital, necessary services assisting children, adults and families who may have experienced: loss, neglect or abuse. More often than not, the children and adults of these families also suffer from trauma. Over time, people in the helping profession are affected by working with traumatized clients due to the heart felt connection you establish with those you serve.

During this empowering 4 week training you will:

1) Learn what vicarious trauma is and the prevalence of trauma
2) Identify how vicarious trauma affects your professional and personal life
3) Learn wellness and self-care strategies to bring your life back into balance
