"Running Days are Done" Performance and Discussion on Sexual Abuse

Sat, 01/16/2016 - 10:00am - 12:00pm
Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church 230 Decatur Street Brooklyn, 11233

Michelle Nickens joins CONNECT and St. Lebannon’s Baptist Church in Brooklyn for a performance of“Running Days are Done” - an engaging, thought provoking dramatic presentation based on collected interviews with women survivors of sexual abuse.

During the performance, playwright/actress Michelle Nickens brings to life the voices of disparate women who defy cookie-cutter notions of victimization – they are fully dimensional and fully human, telling the stories of their lives with courage, honesty, and even humor. As they share their stories, we begin to recognize ourselves in them, to think, to feel, to sort through, and even to celebrate.
