CONNECT’s Ending Child Sexual Abuse Project is offering a two-part training using the powerful Secret Survivors Toolkit and Discussion Guide for people who want to bring awareness and prevention strategies to their communities, their workplace, families and friends.

Secret Survivors is an initiative by Ping Chong + Company to use theater to raise awareness of child sexual abuse and join a nationwide movement to end it.

Part 1: Secret Survivors Performance Screening

Wednesday, November 13
2:00pm - 5:00pm

In our first session, we will screen Secret Survivors The Performance DVD that tells the story of five survivors of child sexual abuse in theatrical form, performed by the survivors themselves. We’ll follow this with a rich discussion facilitated by DeShannon Bowens, founding director of ILERA, and coordinator of our Ending Child Sexual Abuse Project. You will have the opportunity to share your own experiences with child sexual abuse and begin to think about the ways that you can become part of the movement to end child sexual abuse.

Part 2: Secret Survivors Documentary Screening: Using Theatre to Break the Silence
Wednesday, November 20th
2:00pm - 5:00pm
In session two, we will screen the documentary Secret Survivors: Using Theatre to Break the Silence which includes footage from the live performance, additional testimonies from survivors reflecting a broad range of experiences, and experts speaking about the movement to end child sexual abuse. DeShannon Bowens will then guide us through the discussion guide as she continues to share her years of experience working with survivors of child sexual abuse. The discussion guide offers tools to build on the messages of Secret Survivors to help break the silence, and confront, prevent and ultimately end child sexual abuse.

Both are FREE events.  To RSVP contact us at
