Tamar: The Two-Gated City is a new play by Emma Goldman-Sherman.
 
The play is a re-imagining of the story of Tamar, the daughter of King David, who is brutally attacked by her half/brother Amnon. Tamar: The Two-Gated City is a story about violence, remembering and healing.
 
The staged reading of Tamar: The Two-Gated City will be held at Astoria First Presbyterian Church (23-35 Broadway Ground Floor; Astoria, NY 11106-4172) on April 8 at 7pm. Following the reading, there will be a talk back.
 
All are welcome: a love offering of $10 will be accepted but no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
