Understanding Domestic Violence for Chaplains

6 Wednesday evenings from April 23 - May 28
6 PM - 8:30PM
at 127 West 127th Street, Rm 432, New York, NY 10027

Specifically designed for chaplains, this course aims to increase the awareness of the nature, extent and consequences of domestic violence and assess the resources and roadblocks to providing safe and healing spiritual care for victims/survivors, bystanders, and perpetrators.

Participants will learn intervention strategies, systems response, resources and practices. In addition to gaining a deeper understanding of the tactics and dynamics of abuse and how to respond, participants will be asked to explore the way their own theological, religious and spiritual experience shapes their understanding and response to domestic violence.

Fee for all 6 sessions: $150. Sliding scale and scolarships available. To enroll or for more information contact connectfaith@connectnyc.org.
