Parenting Education for Mothers Affected by Intimate Partner Violence (PE)

This six series course is for people working with women and victims and survivors.
This course offers knowledge, practices and skills for those helping parents respond to their children's experiences for family violence. Participants learn to create space for parents to reflect on factors shaping their parenting beliefs and style.
Facilitator(s): Pamela Edstrom, LCSW
Pamela Edstrom, LCSW is a consultant for public and private social service agencies. She provides training and staff development specializing in family violence (domestic violence, child abuse/neglect, and child sexual abuse), parenting, grief & loss, interpersonal/communication skills, group dynamics, conflict intervention, cultural competency, stress & time management and team building. Currently, she is a facilitator for CONNECT /CTI, conducting the Train-the-trainer Parenting class and co-leading Understanding Men Who Batterer classes. Ms. Edstrom is a member of Coalition on Working with Abusive Partners (COWAP) and is on the Domestic Violence Advisory Sub-Committee for the Administration of Children’s Services. She is also, an adjunct professor for the Borough of Manhattan Community College.
