Sara Ahmad
Sara Ahmad works for CONNECT’s Legal Advocacy Program(LAP) and partners with the Crime Victims Treatment Center (CVTC) advocating for survivors of domestic violence and providing one-on-one client services. Working with East Harlem police precincts, she reaches out to potential victim survivors who may be in need of legal advocacy, crisis counseling, safety planning, and access to long term supportive benefits. Ms. Ahmad also works the Legal Advocacy helpline, where she is fluent in Hindi and Urdu. Prior to becoming a full-time legal advocate at CONNECT, Sara interned at LAP for 6 months during her senior year in college. She graduated from John Jay College in 2017 and was a research assistant for the Racial Cultural Psychology Laboratory. In her downtime, Sara has always been drawn to things that can calm her and bring out her inner peace. Riding her bike with her cat or going to the beach and letting the waves crash at her feet are a couple things that make her feel at peace.
