Marlon joined CONNECT in 2005. He is a full-time Trainer and Educator for the CONNECT Training Institute (CTI) and CONNECT’s Community Empowerment Program (CEP). Marlon has worked with families and youth who have witnessed violence since 2000. He is one of the lead trainers for “Understanding Domestic Violence: Essentials & Intersections” and facilitates “Hombres Dialogando,” a bimonthly support group for Spanish-speaking men struggling with relationship issues. Marlon leads workshops for high schools, fatherhood programs, job placement programs and re-entry programs. Across the span of his career, Marlon has also worked as an Early Head Start teacher, family worker, and as a Male Involvement Coordinator. Marlon grew up in Latin America and comes from an extended family with lots of adult male relatives. Noting that many men today do not have that foundation or support, he works with male youth and adult men in understanding their importance as role models, fathers, intimate partners/spouses, providers and productive human beings.
